A lot of people ask me what I use, especially guitar players interested in slide and Delta Blues, so I thought I would add a page describing my main guitars. I've had others over the last few years, but these are the ones I've settled on. |

This is my amazing National Resolectric - my main guitar! It's a hybrid electric resonator guitar with an old style P-90 pickup at the neck and a Highlander pickup in the resonator. I originally got this wonderful instrument mainly for playing in clubs - it has a unique sound, with a resonator but without the hollow acoustic sound of a traditional national. I love this instrument. |

This is my Gibson Nighthawk - they only made them in the mid 90's and it's getting hard to find these great instruments. I have two - one I found in Toronto, the other in Austin. Both were used, which is the only way you get these guitars now that production has ceased. This guitar has beautiful tone - somewhere between a classic Gibson and the clean sound of a Fender Stratocaster - perfect for slide. |

1980 Fender Bullet - yes, I know, it's only a Bullet - but it fits me so well, and new electric bits have given it a great sound. I haven't used it that much, but I will probably use it more and more as time goes by. I found this guitar at a pawn shop in Austin - it is an American-made fusion of a smallish Strat-like body and a Tele neck that is wonderful for playing. |

1963 Harmony - a rescue from an Austin pawn shop. This guitar needed some work, but the tone is rich and warm. I use it when I'm writing new material. |
